Our Story: One taste changed everything.

Our Story: How VIVO Began

VIVO was born from a kitchen accident during the pandemic.

Peter was making dinner when he realized he'd nearly run out of red wine vinegar. Linda's deep love of Italy — its fashion, food, and culture — meant there was always real Lambrusco from Emilia-Romagna in the house. He did something impulsive — he mixed a few drops of her Lambrusco with what little vinegar remained.

One taste stopped them cold.

The blend was unlike anything they'd tasted before. Bright. Balanced. Alive. Complex enough to sip straight, yet bold enough to transform a simple salad into something memorable.

That accidental discovery sparked an obsession.

The Search for the Source

We had to understand what made that combination so extraordinary. The answer wasn't in the kitchen — it was in Italy.

Lambrusco grapes have been cultivated in Emilia-Romagna for centuries. In Modena, vinegar isn't a commodity — it's a craft. Small-batch producers use traditional methods passed down through generations, honoring a legacy of meticulous devotion to flavor.

We discovered producers who craft vinegar the way it was meant to be made: using only pure Lambrusco grapes from local vineyards. No industrial shortcuts. No additives or sugar to mask inferior ingredients. Just traditional methods, small batches, and unwavering attention to what matters most — pure, authentic flavor.

Bringing Modena Home

VIVO is our way of sharing what we found in Modena.

Every bottle is small-batch crafted in Italy using only Lambrusco grapes from Emilia-Romagna. The result is vinegar so bright and balanced, you could drink it straight — yet bold enough to elevate everything from simple greens to grilled meats to cocktails.

It's the vinegar we improvised in our kitchen that night, perfected by Italian artisans who've been refining the craft for generations.

Good enough to drink. Impossible to forget.
